Swing bowler Praveen Kumar has been banned temporarily and issued a show cause notice by the BCCI following his bust-up with the opposition player in a Corporate Trophy game in Bhilai recently.
The matter will be further investigated by the BCCI's Disciplinary Committee, which will mean Kumar won't be able to play the upcoming domestic ODIs.
The incident happened after Praveen, playing for ONGC, bowled a short-pitched delivery at Income Tax batsman Ajit Argal. When Argal checked with the umpire whether it was a no ball, an angry Praveen started abusing the batsman prompting the on-field umpires to report the incident to match referee Dhananjay Singh.
