INDIAN SQUAD FOR 2 TEST MATCHES AGAINST AUSTRALIA

Indian selectors announced the Indian cricket squad for two test matches against Australia. Selectors take some harsh decision as they dropped out of form Indian opener Gautam Gambhir. As many of the senior fast ballers such as Zaheer khan and Irfan Pathan  are injured they are dropped as well.


In form batsman Wasim Jaffer and Murli Vijay are selected. Murli Vijay recently score a ton against Mumbai in Irani cup and shows a promising contestant as an opener in the place of Gautam Gambhir. Wasim Jaffer scored 915 runs in 12 innings this season in Ranji trophy.

In spinners R. Ashwin, Pragyan Ojha and Harbhajan Singh are selected. Harbhajan Singh had a great carrear against Australia and bowl very well in domestic cricket.

Among fast bowlers new talent of Indian bowling Bhuvneshvar Kumar, Ashok Dinda and Ishant Sharma are taken into the squad. In bating department some of the young players are selected such as Shikhar Dhawan, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane.

India will play two warm up matches against Australia before starting the test series in Chennai from 22 Feb.

INDIAN SQUAD AGAINST AUSTRALIA : MS Dhoni (captain), Virender Sehwag, Shikhar Dhawan, Cheteshwar Pujara, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, R Ashwin, Pragyan Ojha, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ashok Dinda, Murali Vijay and Ishant Sharma.
